SURFACE CASTING BAIT
James Heddon ( 1845 -1911 ) of Dowagiac Michigan should be considered the Godfather of American fish lures. This lure is one of his earliest, most important creations and was patented April 1st,1902. The name was shortened to Dowagiac Expert in 1903 and is referred to as The Slope Nose by collectors because of the district sloping in front. Dowagiac ( pronounced doe-wah-ge-ack ) is derived from the Native American Potawattamie language and means many fish.
All lures come in an attractive wood presentation box, with a written history and a copy of the original patent drawing.
